Named for its resemblance to the skeleton of the herring fish, this pattern is formed with a series of interlocking rectangles positioned perpendicular to each other. ![]() This texture is an example of a herringbone pattern. Oak is also a durable timber, which can resist weather conditions without staining, sanding, or treatment. Oak finishes hold a straight grain with a rough, uneven texture, and can vary widely depending on the individual source tree. Oak typically possesses a light-to-medium brown hue, though can also hold hues of white, olive, or dark brown. Oak is a popular timber product in the architecture and construction industry, used for external facades, cladding, or landscape elements, and for internal applications such as furniture, flooring, or cabinets. The joints are filled with mortar and are 0 mm (0 inches) in width. The image represents a physical area of 4630 x 3467 mm (182.3 x 136.5 inches) in total, with each individual board measuring approximately 1637.5 x 409.375 mm. With the thicker profiles, we do recommend some finishing nails to hold them in place until the adhesive kicks. ![]() Typically, panels are glued up over any rigid substrate with a standard paneling or construction adhesive. Our tambour is all on a flexible backing but that doesn't mean you need to install in around curves or bar fronts. With a low set-up cost as well as a small minimum square footage, this allows you to truly create the look, In addition to a multitude of standard profiles, we also can produce custom profiles upon request. We can also produce custom wood profiles! If there is another species or slat profile you're interested in, don't hesitate to call and ask. We also offer mahogany, cherry, ash, maple, walnut, and rare specialty woods may also be available (purple heart, heat treated ash/poplar, etc.). We typically stock red oak, white oak, and poplar. As these panels are hand assembled - width will not be a true 12" every time.) We can also discuss the best custom sizes we make for your application. Our standard size panels are include 1' x 8' slat length, or 1' x 3' slat length. Looking for 9 foot? 10 foot? more? No problem! Depending on the wood species - we can go up to 12 feet slat length! Unlike other companies - we produce a true 96" slat length. In addition, it has the ability to flex around curves and corners giving a modern look to an otherwise normal installation.
